POSITION: FOREMAN

 

JOB GOAL: To maintain the physical school plant and grounds in a condition of operating excellence so that the full educational and community use of them may be made at all times.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:                      

1. Experience in building cleaning and operations.
2. Ability to work cooperatively with staff and general public.
3. Ability to prioritize tasks.
4. Other additions to the above as the School Committee may find appropriate.
5. Ability to move, lift, stack furniture, cartons of school and custodial supplies, i.e., minimum weight of 50 pounds.

REPORTS TO: Head Custodian &  District Custodial Supervisor 

  

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. To oversee the shift assigned as to the completion of cleaning and maintenance responsibilities.
2. To perform a reasonable share of the workload.
3. To ensure that the staff is performing up to expected standards of building cleanliness.
4. To develop a spirit of teamwork and cooperation among the shift crew.
5. To maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and to notify Head Custodian when supplies are needed.
6. To maintain building security.
7. To report maintenance and other problems observed to the Head Custodian.
8. To be courteous at all times to other personnel and the general public.
9. To perform other duties as may be assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Per AFSCME Contract

SALARY:  Per AFSCME Contract
