QUALIFICATIONS:

1.Working knowledge of heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems, and climate control monitoring software;

2. Skilled in operation, industrial and domestic boilers and burners, related to heating and hot water systems, up to 700,000 BTU;

3. Possess Journeyman Plumbing license and familiarity with State Plumbing and Gas Codes; 4. Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with minimum supervision;

5. Ability to perform indoor and outdoor tasks, under adverse condition;

6. Ability to read and comprehend building plans as related to plumbing and heating specifications; layout projects for repair, replacement, or testing.

7. Possess Massachusetts driver's license and safe driving record;

8. Ability to maintain flexibility in a fast-paced work environment;

9. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Responsible for overseeing operation of HVAC equipment, RTU's and Unit Vents as well as heating and hot water boilers and making minor repairs and adjustments to keep them in good operating condition;

2. Works closely with the Deputy Director of Facilities on a preventive maintance plan.

3. Overseas and maintains a filter replacement program. 

2. Responsible for repair and/or recommended replacement of all school plumbing fixtures, ie., water closets, urinals, sinks, showers, faucets, etc.;

3. Keeps inventory of HVAC parts, belts, fans and motors as well as plumbing stock and requisitions for necessary parts and supplies;

4. Oversees operation and maintenance of septic systems and backflow prevention devices and keeps a log of same;

5. Makes minor repairs to kitchen equipment, , steam kettles, dish machines, etc.;

6. Is courteous at all times to other staff, students, and the general public;

7. Perform any other duties or responsibilities in keeping with the scope of his or her job as assigned by the Director of Facilities or the Deputy Director of Facilities.
