Barnstable Public Schools Mail Courier/Custodian
Hours: 6:30-am-2:30pm
Provide a high level of service. Delivers reports, supplies, and correspondence to and from Barnstable Public School(s).
To provide staff and students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient environment in which the school system's goals and responsibilities for education may be achieved.
Description:
- Organize and deliver mail, supplies, and other items to BPS Schools.
- Driver must be courteous at all times when driving as an agent of BPS.
- Run business errands as necessary, such as at the hardware store, office supply store, etc.
- Other related duties as directed by management.
- Works in tandem as a Facilities team member to deliver excellent service.
- Ability to understand and implement good building cleaning practices.
- The individual is responsible for routine cleaning of the Facilities, and Transportation Departments, as well as Bathrooms.
- Ability to work cooperatively with staff students, and the general public.
- Ability to move, lift, and stack school and custodial supplies, as well as chairs, tables, desks, and other school furniture. As well as chairs, tables, desks, and other school furniture with weights of 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to perform outdoor tasks, i.e., window washing, snow shoveling, as needed during major storm events.
- Consistently provides service to staff, volunteers and co-workers, reflecting Barnstable Public Schools' commitment to excellence.
- Maintaining and Tracking Inventory of the Facilities Warehouse.
- Serving as both a Courier and Custodian throughout the day within Barnstable Public Schools.
- Reports to District Custodial Supervisor & Director of Facilities.
Qualifications:
Must be able to lift 50lbs.
Valid U.S. Driver’s License upon hire.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Per AFSCME Contract
SALARY: Per AFSCME Contract
