POSITION:   DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF FACILITIES

Job Description:  To assist the Director of Facilities in the day to day operations and maintenance of the School Department’s Facilities and Buildings.

Annual Salary: $80,000 to $100,000 (Based on experience)

Preferred Qualifications:

1. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in electrical, mechanical, civil engineering or related field
2. A minimum of five (5) years of successful experience in the area of school facility maintenance and operations or equivalent.
3. Demonstrated aptitude and understanding of electro-mechanical systems, hvac, and associated pneumatic and digital control systems.
4. Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of Preventive Maintenance Programs.
5. General knowledge of data IP based data, phone and security systems.
6. Knowledge of and experience with Massachusetts State Bidding and Procurement Laws.
7. Experience with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, School Dude, and MUNIS.
8. Supervisory experience with both union and non-union environment(s).
9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Reports to:   Director of Facilities

Responsibilities:

1. Oversees and manages maintenance projects as assigned by the Director of Facilities
2. Oversees and directs the facilities maintenance staff through the prioritization and scheduling of work orders.
3. Assists the Director in developing and soliciting bids for products and services.
4. Assists the Director with the development and scheduling of employee safety and associated training programs.
5. Assists with day to day scheduling of all facilities related operations.
6. Is responsible administering and maintaining district wide PM schedules.
7. Primary interface with outside contractors for contracted services.
8. All other work as assigned by the Director of Facilities.

Terms of Employment:  Year round full time

Salary $80,000 - $100,000 Commensurate with experience.
