Description

POSITION:       Board Certified Behavior Analyst    

 

JOB GOALS:

  1. To use data-based processes to understand why students are not meeting behavioral expectations, and apply evidence-based interventions to address a range of student needs, related to emotional, behavior and social challenges, that produce meaningful outcomes and improve student success.
  2. To support and increase the capacity of school-based personnel and teams to meet the social-emotional and behavior needs of struggling students.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Master’s Degree in related field: special education, school psychology, school counseling, school social work.
  2. Massachusetts special education teacher, social worker, school counselor, or school psychologist licensure.
  3. Certified BCBA.
  4. 3 years of experience working or consulting in a public school setting.
  5. Responsible for maintaining a valid crisis intervention / restraint certification approved by the district.
  6. Working knowledge of special education regulations and IEP process.
  7. Experience conducting FBAs and writing BIPs.
  8. Effective written and verbal communication skills.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Supervision experience.

 

PHYSICAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Must have and be able to use personal vehicle to travel between different schools in the district.
  2. Must be able to ambulate within school buildings and school yards.
  3. Must be able to move between varied seating from floor to low chairs and transition between varied school furniture sizes from Pre-K – High School.

 

REPORTS TO:     Director(s) of Special Education

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Manage research-based behavior interventions for students with and without disabilities, including emotional impairment, autism, and other disabilities.
  2. Work with teachers, paraprofessionals, administrators and other support staff to implement interventions with fidelity and collect and analyze data.
  3. Utilize data management software to create data management systems and provide clear and understandable verbal, written and graphic data summaries to stakeholders.
  4. Effectively collaborate with and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders including but not limited to students, district and school personnel, and parents.
  5. Maintain and keep required credentials.
  6. Train staff in district approved crisis management and response practices (i.e., CPI, Safety Care, etc.).
  7. Provide training to administrators, general and special education staff, including but not limited to staff of students in special programs and placements.
  8. Conduct functional behavior assessments, write reports and behavior intervention plans, and develop and support teams to implement behavior intervention plans.
  9. Attend team meetings as necessary and requested.
    Provide consultation to parents.
  10. Work with school-based teams to support best practices for PBIS, social-emotional competencies, behavior management, intervention, and prevention.
  11. Prepare and implement professional development for staff.
  12. Provide ongoing consultation to school-based teams.
  13. Meet regularly with school and district special education administration.
  14. Other responsibilities as assigned by Director(s) of Special Education.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Per BTA Contract

SALARY:  Per BTA Contract
